Alan Greyeyes grew up in Winnipeg and is a member of the Peguis First Nation. He runs the Aboriginal Music Program for Manitoba Music and chairs the Manitoba Aboriginal Music Host Committee Incorporated (MAMHC). Alan is also a member of the National Advisory Board for the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings- Canada’s national funding agency for the music industry.

Manitoba Music’s Aboriginal Music Program is now in its fifth year. The program features the Aboriginal Music Performers Camp (AMP Camp) - a five day professional development retreat for Aboriginal artists from across the country.

The MAMHC recently produced a tour for the 2009 Cultural Olympiad featuring Darren Lavallee and the Norman Chief Memorial Dancers. The organization also launched a new festival this year, called Aboriginal Music Week. The five-day event includes concerts and workshops, running November 3-7 in downtown Winnipeg venues
